Careful Wisdom Teeth Removal in Greater Hobart

BOOK NOW - MOONAH BOOK NOW - CLAREMONT BOOK NOW - CAMPBELL ST

Wisdom teeth are the last four teeth to come through, usually in your early adult years. Unfortunately, for many patients, their jaw is too small for their wisdom teeth to emerge fully. When this happens, the teeth become obstructed, causing pain and discomfort, and they need to be removed.

If you're experiencing pain or inflammation in your jaw, bad breath or bleeding gums, your wisdom teeth may be impacted and will require extraction to avoid infections and further discomfort. The experienced dentists at Moonah Dental Centre can efficiently extract your wisdom teeth in-house, so please don't hesitate and call for an examination or book online today.

If you're in pain, don't wait. Book a consultation today.

Tooth Extraction — Hobart, TAS — Moonah Dental Centre

Easy, Hassle-Free Extraction

Depending on the severity of your condition, some doctors or dentists will refer you to a hospital to have your wisdom teeth removed under a general anaesthetic which can be costly and time-consuming. Moonah Dental Centre has the advantage of an on-site anaesthetist, so extractions can be performed in-chair at the practice, saving you an expensive trip to the hospital.

At Moonah Dental Centre, your dentist will examine your teeth to determine how problematic your wisdom teeth are and recommend a solution based on your condition and preferences. The examination will typically involve an x-ray and a general assessment of your mouth and jaw. The extraction itself can usually take up to 90 mins to complete, and in most circumstances, is performed under a local anaesthetic. However, some rarer cases will need a general anaesthetic, which can also be performed in-house at one of our three practices.

Do My Wisdom Teeth Have to be Removed?

Not everyone experiences issues when their wisdom teeth emerge. For example, you may have a wider jaw or had other teeth extracted in the past that allow your wisdom teeth the come through without any problems. But if you're starting to experience discomfort or are simply concerned about how and when your wisdom teeth will emerge, book in for a consultation. Our friendly team will advise on the condition of your wisdom teeth and determine if preventative action is needed.
